LITBL News is a "Read Only" listserv for Long Island Talking Book Library
patrons. It is designed to distribute interesting and informative resources.

The Suffolk Cooperative Library System/Outreach Services Department and the
Long Island Talking Book Library will be hosting SEE FOR YOURSELF 2008: An
Assistive Technology and Resource Fair for People who are Blind or Visually
Impaired.
The fair will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in
the auditorium of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System (SCLS). SCLS is
located on the North Service Road of the Sunrise Highway. Go to Exit 55 of
the Sunrise Highway. The building is located east of Route 101 (Sills Road)
in Bellport, NY.
The fair will feature 21 exhibitors.....vendors and service providers. The
vendors will discuss and demonstrate the currennt technology for people who
are visually impaired or blind. The service providers will provide visitors
with information on eligibility requirements and the services they can offer
to individuals who are visually impaired or blind.
You will need between an hour and an hour and a half to see all of the
exhibitors. Do not plan to attend the fair all day.
Admission is free and there will be coffee and tea. There is no place to sit
and there will be no lunch served. Please make appropriate transportation
arrangements in this regard.
