TO: DIRECTORS, FRIENDS OF LIBRARIES FROM: BARBARA MOON, YOUNG ADULT CONSULTANT SUBJECT: SCLS HOSPITAL VISIT PROGRAM DONATIONS For over 20 years, SCLS has coordinated the Hospital Visit Program which includes monthly visits primarily to the Pediatrics and Pediatric Psychology floors and the Pediatric Cancer Clinic of Stony Brook University Hospital. Each month, two librarians visit children in these facilities and bring with them books, as well as kits of activities, games, and puzzles. These materials are purchased and assembled by SCLS and then distributed to the librarians making these visits. All costs associated with this program originate from donations by Friends groups and other generous agencies. SCLS is currently seeking donations for the Matt Blend Fund, which administers the funds for this program. We are especially in need of Spanish language children's books, as well as materials for the individual kits. We appreciate the generosity of those organizations which have supported and continue to support this worthwhile community activity. Thank you.
